Welcome to the San Antonio Queen of Soul, Inc., website.  Your support and attendance at our 47th Annual Queen of Soul Pageant, which was held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Carver Community Cultural Center 226 North Hackberry Street was sincerely appreciated. The event was both enlighten and very entertaining by an array of poise, talent and intellect presented by the contestants.  The event was attended by Fiesta Commission executives, Fiesta Royalty, family member, friends and the San Antonio community.  It was enjoyed by everyone in attendance.  Kamilah was crowned Miss Queen of Soul 2015, Marissa Elder 1st Princess 2015 and Jessica Keno 2nd Princess 2015. The Queen, 1st  and 2nd Princess are  all the recipients of  scholarships.   If you are interested in becoming a contestant or know someone who does, please click on the above link “Be A Queen” select application, print, fill it out and mail it to the application address.

For forty-seven years, the San Antonio Queen of Soul’s pageant training program has strived to further the educational goals of young, African-American women in the San Antonio area. During the organization’s illustrious history, there have been forty-five young ladies that have held the distinguished title of “Miss Queen of Soul.” The scholarships provided to the Queen and her Court helps them further their educational pursuits and career goals.

The objectives of the organization are simple: finding that unique young lady who embodies the poise, self-esteem and academic excellence to wear the crown of “Miss Queen of Soul.” This young lady will attend official Fiesta functions as well as numerous civic activities.  Our Queen and her Court not only represent themselves and their families, they will also represent their church, school and the entire African-American community in the many Fiesta events throughout the city.

For those who decide to participate in the pageant, we guarantee it will be a life-changing experience.  During the weeks leading up to the reception and pageant, our contestants will get acquainted with other participants, celebrate the importance of sisterhood, form new friendships and take part in events that will prepare them for their chosen career path.

Now, as we turn another page in the chapter of the organization’s history, we will strive to continue the legacy of those members who have come before us.   It is with tremendous gratitude that we honor all of our previous contestants and our many long-time supporters who have made our pageant a success.  Our desire and passion is to make every attempt to uphold the name and reputation of San Antonio Queen of Soul, Inc. and continue to contribute to the rich cultural landscape of the city.
